On Saturday, eight-month pregnant Meera lost her two-year old son, Kishan. She now wants her unborn child to live.

Lying in bed next to her in Jessa Ram Hospital is seven-month pregnant Usha. She too, was injured in Gaffar Market blast.

Fate has brought these two residents of Galli No 42 together. Both suffered leg injuries. Together they pray their injuries will not affect the well being of their babies.

The two women were lying unconscious in Galli No 42 when help came. “We found them on the streets,” said Mohan, of Das Foundation, “Meera was dehydrated. We were worried about them, so we brought them here. Both these women are from poor families and cannot afford proper medical treatment for their children.”
