The three police officials had reportedly admitted the man to the hospital. However, he later died. Declaring the man as unidentified, the police kept his body in the mortuary.
A policeman posted at DDU Hospital informed senior officers about the incident and an inquiry was ordered. “We have ordered an inquiry and ASIs Sharda Devi and Ramesh Chandra posted at the Nihal Vihar police station and HC Anirudha Tyagi have been suspended,” said V Renganathan, additional CP (west).
The autopsy was conducted on Wednesday. “The man, Saroj, was admitted to DDU Hospital. However, he died after a few days. We need to find out how he died,” said a senior police officer. Saroj’s family had even filed a missing complaint.
