Veeru’s sister scores a win

For Anju Sehwag, it was her brother, Virender Sehwag, who won her brownie points with the residents of her ward. A Congress candidate from Dakshinpuri Extension near Khanpur in south Delhi, Anju defeated her BJP rival Arti Devi by a margin of 558 votes. Shaswati Das reports.

But people are sceptical that she is yet to break away from her brother's reflected glory.

"It is Sehwag's popularity that helped her win. She needs to prove herself now because a lot of development work needs to be done in the area,"said Pardeep Sharma, a resident.
