Witnesses admitted that the ferocity of the collision was such that they had no hopes of there being any survivors.

“The condition of Scorpio says it all. Within seconds, local vendors reached the accident site and, as the police station was across the road, they were soon joined by a police team,” Shaufeeq, a vendor, said.

Ramesh, another vendor, said driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Vikas Maan, could not be saved as he bore the impact of the car hitting the streetlight. The injured have been identified as Rahul Kaushik, an MBA whose father is an ASI, Pulkit Gupta, who helps his father in his business, Prawesh Dahiya, who is in export business and whose father is also an ASI, Vaibhav Mittal and Kamal Garg.
