Vintage car rally held

Heads turned as classic couture of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Dodge and others zipped through Capital streets on Sunday as part of the ‘21 Gun Salute Vintage Rally’

More than 125 car models, including some of them dating to 1909, and about 45 bikes rolled out a nostalgic treat for car lovers during the third vintage car rally.
The rally was flagged off from Delhi’s Panchsheel Park Club and concluded in Gurgaon. Participants from Chandigarh, Kanpur, Jaipur, Mumbai and other places showcased their rare collections during the rally which was flagged off by Army chief Gen Bikram Singh.

Some of the most popular vintage beauties at the event included the Willys Overland 1909 — the oldest among all —Rolls Royce 1912, Bentley 1947, and Rolls Royce Phantom 1 of 1925.

“All cars manufactured before 1939 are vintage cars and those post 1939 to 1960s are classic cars,” said Madan Mohan, the organiser of the rally. HTC
