As per the International Meteor Organisation, on May 6, around 70 meteors per hour are expected to be seen.

Looking in the east, to spot the constellation of Aquarius, one would find bright streaks of light zipping across the sky, Kumar said, adding there was no need to use telescopes to observe this phenomenon.

Eta Aquarids shower is caused by flakes of dust left over by Comet Hailey, which last visited Earth in 1986.

The shower is named after Eta Aquarid star in the constellation Aquarius.
