Woman dupes people of Rs 50 lakh
The Delhi Police have arrested a woman for allegedly duping more than 200 people of R50 lakh, on the pretext of providing them with jobs at Singapore airport. The victims are from Punjab and UP.
The Delhi Police have arrested a woman for allegedly duping more than 200 people of Rs50 lakh, on the pretext of providing them with jobs at Singapore airport. The victims are from Punjab and UP.

“The accused, Bharti (36), has been arrested, while her accomplice Rajesh is at large. Efforts are on to nab Rajesh. The accused had given advertisements, promising jobs for skilled and unskilled workers at Singapore airport, in vernacular newspapers in Punjab and UP,” said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity.
The Janakpuri police have so far received more than 200 complaints and more people are approaching them with similar complaints.
A case of cheating has been registered at the Janakpuri police station and investigations are on.
The accused used to charge Rs22,000 from each of the victims and provided them with an e-ticket. The victims were told that their flight was scheduled for June 20. But when the ticket did not get confirmed, they came to Delhi to seek an explanation.
After their money was not refunded at the travel agency’s office — UK International, Dubai Tours and Travels — at Janakpuri District Centre, the victims lodged a complaint with the Janakpuri police station on Sunday.
The police said it was Bharti who had collected money from the victims. The travel agency was opened four months ago. Its owner has been is identified as Rajesh, based in Mumbai.
