In a suspected case of robbery, a 60-year-old woman who was living alone in her multi-storeyed house was found murdered on Wednesday in Sarai Rohilla area of north Delhi, the police said.

Her sons told the police that cash and articles worth about Rs 40 lakh were missing from the house.

Madhu Gupta, who was divorced from her professor husband, was found dead on the first floor by her neighbours.

They informed the police and her sons living in the city.

Gupta has two sons and a daughter, who lives in Sweden.
