Woman jumps to death from eighth floor in Delhi

A 26-year-old woman commits suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of a business centre at Janakpuri in west Delhi.

A 26-year-old woman on Saturday committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of a business centre at Janakpuri in west Delhi the sixth such incident at the building in the past one year.

Police said Prerana jumped to death at around 7.20 pm from the eighth floor of Jaina Towers at the district centre. She was rushed to the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Robin Hibu said she was married and was staying in Adarsh Nagar of northwest Delhi.

"We are verifying the reason of the death and a team has been sent to her residence for further investigation," he said.

No suicide note was found from the spot.

In June last year, a 19-year-old girl Neha Kakkar died after jumping from the sixth storey of the Kirti Shikhar building of the same district centre.
