Identified as 32-year-old Mamta, the victim, used to live on the seventh floor of a multi-storey building in the Army Cantonment area, the police said.
Mamta was married to head constable Surender Singh since February 2008. "According to her husband, Mamta made him tea around 9.30am before going to the terrace, seemingly to check on the water tank installed there.
Minutes later, her body was recovered from a pool of blood on the ground.
No suicide note was recovered from her possession," said AK Ojha, deputy commissioner of police (southwest).
Police said the victim hailed from Rajasthan's Churu district and there was no reason to suspect foul play as iron railings were found to be 'properly' installed around the said terrace from where the victim had jumped.
