Rakesh Kumar alias Raka, a 22-year-old former interstate champion in the 84 kg freestyle wrestling, was wanted in several murder cases.
Police said Raka was arrested on tip-off that a sharpshooter of the gang run by Krishan Phelwan -- who is cooling his heels in a Rajasthan jail -- would be coming to meet one of his accomplices at PVR Saket in south Delhi around 11 am.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) H G S Dhaliwal said Raka was wanted in two murders cases.
Raka, son of a village headman, recently appeared for his final year college examination, police said.
