According to the Chandni Chowk traders, business was severely affected as it became impossible for shoppers and tourists to enter the market during the day as the entry of vehicles was also restricted.

All the Congress councillors joined the demonstration in the Walled City. The municipal councillors who participated in the demonstration raised the same issues in the meeting of the MCD House later in the day.

“The aim of the demonstration was to highlight the failure of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on all fronts in its four-year rule in MCD. We raised the same issues at the MCD meeting,” said Jai Kishan Sharma, leader of the Opposition in MCD.

The MCD House meeting got adjourned in 30 minutes with the Congress councillors raising anti-BJP slogans. HTC
