Apart of the Galgotias educational group, Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Greater Noida, is affiliated to Lucknow's UP Technical University.

Set up in 2000, the college is involved in sharing knowledge with the community in various ways. It started a project for the use of non-conventional sources of energy and developed technology to convert a 10hp diesel engine to run on an LPG engine. “The engine can be deployed for rural tasks and conversion of a diesel engine can be done on site in about four hours by a team of semi-skilled workers,” says the college website.

Many of the GCET faculty members have given advanced courses in mechanical engineering and computer science/ information technology to academics from other Institutes. For this, the college teamed up with NASSCOM, a maritime institute, Sun Microsystems, and Infosys, amongst others.

On the academics front, it boasts to have formalised an articulation (course credit transfer) programme with Purdue University, Calumet, USA.

Says Sunil Galgotia, chairman, Galgotia Group, “We have a rich and renowned faculty comprising over 300 educationists with vast experience in academics and industry. The institute has the highest number of MTech/PhD holders amongst them. The faculty has set new benchmarks by presenting more than a hundred papers which is one of the highest among any private engineering colleges in NCR.”

The institute offers a Bachelor's, Master/s as well as doctoral programmes.

“Our world-class infrastructure and fetching amenities give students the finest learning experience. Constant researching and updating through new projects keeps the college ahead of the competition. It is the result of our learned teachers’ innovative approach and individual grooming sessions for students that they have excelled in their careers and life,” adds Galgotia.
