Principal Aparna Seebaluck welcomed the alumni and the programme began with the singing of the school song, a Rigvedic shloka Sangachatvam Sangatatvam by the alumni and the school choir. It was followed by the lighting of the lamp. In her address, Dr Kalyani Roy, alumna of 1949 and secretary, Society for the Advancement of Education, shared her experiences as an old student.

A slideshow of pictures and video messages of alumni was shown. It was followed by a documentary on the evolution of Cambridge School as a prominent institution which has the motto: We Learn to Serve.

Present on the occasion were prominent alumni of the school such as former bureaucrats Raj Bhargav, Madan Pania, Kamal Jit Chaudhary and Neeladri Bhattacharya, JNU professor of History and writer of many books, Dr A Vasudev, a leading pediatrician of Delhi, and several others. The old students grew nostalgic when memories were revived. They sat on the old benches in the classrooms, took pictures and made videos. They visited the school canteen and the playground of their childhood days. They expressed gratitude to school founder Alok Chandra Deb and senior as well as retired teachers for the values and education they had received.
