Class 10 girl ends life after scoring less in exams

Apparently upset over getting less marks in exams, a 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide, police said on Friday. Bhavani, a student of Class X, allegedly consumed a pesticide at her Godagandla village home under Chinthapally mandal in Nalgonda district on Wednesday when she was alone, sub-inspector Raghavendhar Reddy said.

The girl’s father used to apparently pressurise her to get good marks in examinations, police said. However, she was upset after scoring less in her school tests recently. Soon after she consumed the pesticide, the teenager was rushed to a nearby government hospital, where she died on Friday, police said.
