The centre offers two-year full-time MBA, MBA (executive) and MIB programmes. The MBA (executive) programme is for working executives and managers from the industry.

The centre also conducts a PhD programme in management. These programmes are run under the mentorship of Abad Ahmad, chair professor at the centre.

“The MBA programme offers specialisations in various business functional areas such as marketing, finance and HR. The curriculum is based on current UGC model for MBA.

The programme is unique as it seeks to emphasise on global business perspectives. The course fee is approximately Rs. 21,000 per annum for the full-time MBA programme, which is great value-for-money,” says Professor UM Amin, director, Centre for Management Studies, JMI.

According to the director, what makes the programme popular among aspirants is the highly “student-friendly fee” and the fact that it is offered by a Central university. Into its 11th year, the centre boasts of highly qualified and experienced faculty trained in case based teaching. “We have access to 5000 cases from the Richard Ivy Business School, Canada, as per an agreement signed with them. We also have an international exchange programme with the University of Applied Sciences, Erfurt, Germany, for students,” says Amin.

The centre has had a good record of placements, which are conducted through the university placement cell. “The highest package offered last year was Rs. 12 lakh per annum by the Landmark Group, a retail and hospitality conglomerate in West Asia and India. The average package offered last year was Rs. 5 lakh per annum,” he adds.

Application forms can be obtained from the university campus against a cash payment of Rs. 500. The form is also available online at jmi.ac.in. Admission to all programmes is through entrance tests, followed by a group discussion stage and interview. For MBA (executive), admission is based on an entrance test and interview.
