These are some of the questions the Karnataka ICSE Schools Association (KISA) is expecting Class 1 students to answer in their talent search examination this year.

They were part of the question bank released by KISA to help students prepare for the final exam, which will be conducted in two phases on September 1 and 9.

Sahana Rao, mother of one of the students who is planning to attempt the exam, tweeted a picture of the question bank, expressing shock over the level of difficulty.

Many social media users agreed with Rao, saying even ‘grown adults’ will find these questions difficult to crack.

“Seems like it has been mindlessly made difficult for the sake of it. 1st std kids can’t even understand those questions...” Manohar Seetharam, a Twitter user, commented.

“Our education system is so flawed. We still encourage rote learning. No wonder innovation is hard to find!” said another user Raj Rao.
