Rohtak twins crack NEET in first attempt, want to go to same medical college
The students of Scholars Rosary School in the district took no additional tuitions and thanked each other for their support for achieving the results.
Harshit Malik and Jatin Malik, 17-year-old twin brothers from Rohtak cracked the national eligibility-cum-entrance exam (NEET) in their first attempt, securing 115th and 192nd ranks respectively. The students of Scholars Rosary School in the district took no additional tuitions and thanked each other for their support for achieving the results.
“We always studied together and did equal hard work. That is why our marks in this exam and Class 12 boards are also almost equal,” said Harshit, who secured 93% in Class 12. Jatin got 92%.
“Our daily schedule was to come home from school and sleep for four hours. We studied at night together and helped each other in difficult problems. If one felt sleepy, the other woke him up. If one lost hope, the other gave moral support,” he added.
The duo busy celebrating their achievement presently said they finished several television series to manage stress in the last two years. “We had made it a habit of watching a TV series with our dinner every day. In last two years, we finished all seasons of Friends, Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Doctor Who and many more to feel relaxed,” said Jatin.
The twin brothers who are often mistaken for each other said their success mantra was to revise everything what was taught in school after coming home. “We ensured to study six hours a day on school days and 10 hours on weekends. Self-study is more important than any type of coaching,” said Harshit.
Asked about their future plans, they maintained they wanted to continue study together. “We can’t study without each other, so there is no question of taking admission in different colleges,” they said. The boys said they were hopeful of getting admission at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) in Delhi.
Being twins, what else did they like doing together? “Anything that doesn’t require any physical effort,” the duo quipped.
