Independent candidate Suresh Gurappa Talawar grabbed 6,731 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.7%, 38.7% and 4.9% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress Party's P.Rajeev defeated Indian National Congress's Ghatage Shama Bhima by 46,234 votes.
