Tamil Nadu Election: Paramakudi Assembly Constituency 2022

Paramakudi is one of the 232 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ramanathapuram district. People of Paramakudi voted for Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.

Paramakudi assembly constituency had 2,46,166 electors in 2016, out of which 1,22,894 were male voters and 1,23,252 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Paramakudi constituency had 15 candidates for assembly seat contention. Paramakudi was one of 134 seats won by the Dravida Munetra Kazhagam. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Muthiah.S.Dr won the election by upstaging Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Thisaiveeran.U by a margin of 11,389 votes.

The top two candidates split 87.9% of votes between them. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Muthiah.S.Dr got a total of 79,254 votes, while Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Thisaiveeran.U secured 67,865 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Balaganapathy.V.Pon secured 9,537 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 47.3%, 40.5% and 5.7% respectively.

In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Sundararaj.S beat Indian National Congress's Ramprabu.R by 34,606 votes.
