Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Krishna Bhargava grabbed a total of 86,403 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Manish Kumar Rawat got 65,731 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Ram Pal Rajvanshi bagged 61,231 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 39.7%, 30.2% and 28.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ram Pal Rajwanshi defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Manish Kumar Rawat by 1,522 votes.
