Harirampur is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Dakshin Dinajpur district. People of Harirampur voted for West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 on April 26 and the result was declared on May 2.

In West Bengal Assembly Election 2016, there were 1,96,130 registered voters for Harirampur assembly seat, out of which 1,01,653 were male and 94,477 were female voters. 0.8% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election, there were 6 candidates in the fray from Harirampur constituency. Harirampur was one of 26 seats won by the All India Trinamool Congress. It was a close contest with Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Rafikul Islam winning the election upstaging All India Trinamool Congress's Biplab Mitra by a margin of just 4,504 votes.

95.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Rafikul Islam grabbed a total of 71,447 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Biplab Mitra got 66,943 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Phani Bhusan Mahata bagged 19,845 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.3%, 40.5% and 12.0% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Biplab Mitra defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Narayan Biswas by 7,067 votes.
