Howrah Dakshin is the assembly constituency which comes under the Haora district. It is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 for Howrah Dakshin will be held on April 10 and the result was declared on May 2.
In 2016, the Howrah Dakshin assembly seat had 2,63,290 registered voters. Of the, 1,36,695 were male and 1,26,595 were female voters. 1.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In 2016, 10 candidates were contesting for Howrah Dakshin assembly constituency seat. Howrah Dakshin was one of 211 seats won by the Communist Party Of India (Marxist). All India Trinamool Congress's Brajamohan Majumder won the election by defeating Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Arindam Basu (BABU) by a margin of 16,194 votes.
The top two candidates split 89.1% of votes between them. All India Trinamool Congress's Brajamohan Majumder got a total of 93,689 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Arindam Basu (BABU) secured 77,495 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Sahana Guha Ray secured 16,277 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.7%, 40.3% and 8.5% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Brajamohan Majumder outperformed Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Krishna Kisor Ray(K.K.RAY) by 31,422 votes.
