Akshay: Lagi bet?
Akshay Kumar would initiate cricket matches during shooting breaks and after pack-ups.
My washerman wants me to hear about Akshay Kumar’s batting and betting skills. So, I’m told that the actor, who was shooting for Rohit Dhawan’s Desi Boyz with John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh at Oxford, would initiate cricket matches during shooting breaks and after pack-ups.
Predictably, the games would be between Akki’s XI and Rohit’s XI, and more often than not, they’d been very close finishes. So if one day the actor’s team won, the director’s players would even the scores in the next match. Khiladi Kumar would also sometimes wager with Rohit, as to who would win the game, enthuses my dhobi.
Not surprisingly, he would win all the bets, resulting in the nirdeshak losing a good amount of money to the actor. That’s what I call faaydey ka sauda, never mind if it’s khel khel mein. Hai na?
