Akshay Kumar can’t wait for the New Year. He will be representing Ontario at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Canada as one of the 15 international torchbearers.

Akshay Kumar can’t wait for the New Year. He will be representing Ontario at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Canada as one of the 15 international torchbearers. The torch will be presented to the desi khiladi at a high-powered luncheon in the city, on November 16, by the Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper.

If Akki is not beaming from ear-to-ear about the rare honour, it is because he is simultaneously trying to cope with a personal loss. Wife Twinkle’s much-loved maasi, Simple Kapadia, passed away on November 10. And Akshay who was shooting in Baramati for a film, has rushed back to be with the family during the last rites.
