This beauty you see here could well become Newcomer No. 1 in Bollywood. Narmmadaa Ahuja, daughter of actor-politician Govinda, is about to make her film debut. And for this, daddy has reportedly got the director and producer who gave him hits like Coolie No. 1 and Hero No. 1 — David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani, though Sanjay Leela Bhansali had been his first choice. The male lead in this film is expected to be Shahid Kapur.

Narmmadaa (or Narmada before she changed the spelling as per numerology) had sent the gossip mills into an overdrive when she appeared as Salman Khan’s arm candy at IIFA last year. Some reports called her reason for a Sallu-Kat tiff. But now she is making news for the right reasons.

Speaking to HT City, the star daughter comes across as spunky girl full of enthusiasm and go-getter spirit. “Acting is in my genes,” says Narmmadaa, who has fortified inherited talent with an acting course she took overseas. “I was waiting for this moment for so long. I’ve always wanted to become an actress and finally it has arrived.”

On her biggest challenge and the strategy to tackle it, Narmmadaa says, “I am entering the industry at a time when it’s hit by the recession. This makes it even more challenging for me to deliver my best.”
