“I do only one film at a time as I don’t want my focus to shift. I don’t want to become a mere glamorous prop in Bollywood, like many others, so I sign a film only when my role is important,” she says.
Sharma, whose films Naqaab (2007), Souryam (2008) and Baabarr (2009), went unnoticed, has no regrets. "I played the lead roles. But whether a film will be a hit or not is not in my hands," she says.
The actress has been left out of the promotional activities of her most recent flick, Akshay Kumar–starrer Khatta Meetha. But, she’s not complaining: “I would’ve felt upset if Trisha (the film’s female lead) would’ve been actively seen promoting the film.
But, since Akshay is only doing it, I’ve no problems if I was left out,” she says, adding, “I have an important role and I don’t have to publicise it.”
