Aishwarya Rai has not been replaced from L'Oreal ad campaign. There were reports doing the rounds on web that Sonam Kapoor has replaced the first bahu of Bollywood from the brand's purview. The official spokesperson of L'Oreal has condemned all these reports.

Perhaps the confusion emerged as both the ladies appear in the L'Oreal commercials. A spokesperson from the beauty company in India, said: “The misrepresented reports on the internet that L’Oreal Paris would replace Aishwarya Rai with Sonam Kapoor are completely wrong and we are shocked at what has been written."

"Aishwarya Rai is the epitome of Indian beauty and the face of L’Oreal Paris not only in India but in the whole world. Her beauty appeals to all ages and because she has no wrinkles, we have never asked her to promote our anti-aging cream," he further added.

According to the statement, Sonam Kapoor has not been chosen because she represents a new generation but because, as in any other country, L’Oreal in India needs more than one ambassador to promote the diversity of its products and Sonam will represent the brand in India only.

"We have a long term relationship with Aishwarya and intend to reinforce it even further in the future," said L’Oreal.
