Aspiring actress commits suicide

Unable to deal with constant failure in the film industry, a 31-year-old aspiring actress committed suicide in her Goregaon residence. Vijaya Raut had appeared in many crowded scenes in films.

A 31-year-old aspiring actress committed suicide in her Goregaon residence. Vijaya Raut hung herself using a dupatta. This was her umpteenth suicide attempt.

Constant rejection and failure over the past 3 years allegedly drove the actress to attempt suicide by slitting her wrists, jumping off a train and consuming sleeping tablets in the past.

"Raut had tried to kill herself many times in the past but she was unsuccessful. This time, however, she hung herself about three days ago in the flat where she has been staying alone for the past year," Assistant Police Inspector S Roman from the Goregaon police station told Mid-Day.

Roman added that he received a call from her neighbours after they complained of strong stench emitting from her flat. Even though, the cops did not find a suicide note near the body, Raut's friends' and acquaintances' statements have led them to believe that she did in fact commit suicide.

Vijaya Raut had appeared in many crowded scenes in films and even got plastic surgery to make it big in the industry.
