In the words of Freddie Mercury, another one bites the dust. Celebrated Indian designer and one of Delhi’s most eligible bachelors, Ravi Bajaj (47) has finally tied the knot. On Sunday morning, blog Fashionscandal posted that Bajaj may have tied the knot in Las Vegas.
Confirming the news to HT City, the designer said, “Yes, I got married a few days back in Las Vegas, and it feels absolutely amazing.” Bajaj married Binti Malhotra, who has been working with him for close to 18 years. She joined his label in 1994 and the two have been best friends for years.
But why the hurried Vegas wedding? “We were both in the US for work and just knew that we were ready to take the plunge.” Bajaj explains that his wedding was nothing like the Vegas weddings shown on TV. “There was no trip to a white Chapel. It was a civil marriage. We got a marriage license from the county court and had a ceremony there.” He adds that they have no plans to host a reception in Delhi. “Binti is a very private person. So, we’re not sure if we want a reception in Delhi. Such events turn into a massive circus. So we’re trying to not go down that road!”
