It’s an open secret that Kareena Kapoor will be performing at IPL’s ‘Opening Nite’ today. But not many know that the organisers are going out of their way to ensure her participation in the tournament’s fifth edition in Chennai.
Kareena has been in Bangkok for the past few days, where she is shooting an ad for a shampoo brand. As a result of this, she found it tough to make time for the IPL event.
“So the organisers have decided to arrange for a chartered flight for her, which will fly her from Bangkok to Chennai. And then she will board the same flight to return to Bangkok to wrap the ad shoot,” says an insider.
Though organiser Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft Entertainment feigns ignorance, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about,” a spokesperson for Kareena confirms the news, “The organisers have arranged for a special charter to fly her down to Chennai from Bangkok. They are very keen on having Bebo onboard, and are making sure she is not inconvenienced in any way.”
Bebo’s charter flight may burn a hole in the organisers’ pockets, as a Chennai-Bangkok round trip apparently costs around R20 lakh. During her performance, the actor is likely to dance to a medley of songs from Bodyguard (2011), 3 Idiots (2009) and the chartbuster ‘Chamak challo…’ from RA.One (2011) may cost Rs 20 lakh!
Will Preity be missing from IPL 5?
Actor and co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Kings XI Punjab, Preity Zinta, who is often spotted cheering her team members during the matches, says that this season she might not be seen as frequently. “I am not sure if I will be seen much in the IPL this year as I am very busy with my film Ishkq In Paris,” says Preity, who was in the Capital on Saturday night.
