Bachchan began his visit with a reception at the Hindu Studies centre in Magdalen Street, before stopping at the Bodleian Library and the Trinity College.

He said, “I am struck by the long-standing links between India and Oxford and how Hindu studies is flourishing here.” He also posted on Twitter, “Roaming the corridor where Shakespeare walked has been the highlight of this trip.”
