Big B promotes son, faces flak

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, 68, ticked off a lot of his fans on Thursday when he took on the task of promoting his son Abhishek Bachchan, 35, on Twitter.

On Thursday evening, Amitabh went into an overdrive tweeting pictures of Abhishek at promotional events for his latest film, Dum Maaro Dum, which didn’t do well at the box office.

Several fans pointed out that Big B was uploading pics of Abhishek surrounded by fans just to prove that his son still had a fan base. “U promoting him is not so happening nemore…it may just dwarf Abhi’s own-deserved popularity (sic),” wrote Roshni Agarwal. “god...c’mon u can’t promote him unnecesarily! he does nt (nothing) fr DMD…nobody is appreciating!!,” wrote another user.

Surprisingly Big B felt the need to defend his actions to his fans. “This is not promotion .. this is a father admiring his son …and if you have one would you not do it too?” he wrote in reply to several queries.
