Saif Ali Khan’s childhood pic with Sharmila Tagore reminds fans of his son Taimur Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan’s sister Saba Ali Khan shared an unseen black-and-white photo from the actor’s childhood on Instagram. Fans reacted to Saif’s photo with Sharmila Tagore by saying he looked like Taimur Ali Khan, the elder son of Saif and Kareena Kapoor.

Saif Ali Khan was compared to son Taimur Ali Khan after the actor’s sister Saba Ali Khan shared his childhood photo with their mother, actor Sharmila Tagore. In her Instagram post, alongside a black-and-white photo of Saif and Sharmila, Saba wrote, “I'm wondering if he was the favourite one?” While many fans reacted to her post with heart emojis, a fan commented on Saif and Taimur’s uncanny resemblance.

In the undated throwback photo Saba shared, Saif is seen sitting on his mother’s lap, and appears to be around the same age as Taimur Ali Khan, who is now 5. The pair is looking into the camera as they pose with Sharmila keeping Saif close with one hand and fixing his hair adorably with another. While Sharmila is seen smiling, Saif looked more serious as he posed for the mother-son portrait.

Sharing their photo, Saba Ali Khan wrote, “Duo... #darlings I'm wondering if he was the favourite one?! What do you think? Sons and daughters… All the mothers out there will know... I'm sure! But… as always… Originally framed in the album.” One Instagram user commented on the photo, “My favourite pic. Just one week for Saifu's (Saif Ali Khan’s) birthday.” Another one wrote, “Sons are moms' favourite mostly, but daughters have a special place, too.” One fan commented on how Taimur had taken after his father, and said, “(Saif in the photo) Looks like Taimur.”

Taimur Ali Khan, the elder son of actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, was born in December 2016. The two welcomed their second child together in February 2021 – son Jehangir Ali Khan. Saif also has two children with ex-wife, actor Amrita Singh – daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan. While Sara is an actor, Ibrahim is working as an assistant director under filmmaker Karan Johar.

Saba often shares pictures of Saif Ali Khan and his children, apart from sharing throwbacks of her siblings Saif and actor Soha Ali Khan. Recently, she had posted an old photo of her parents, Sharmila Tagore and the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Sharing the photo, Saba wrote, “Old is always gold. The best duo. Parents. Gwalior suiting ad. #goodolddays. Miss those times! Love you Abba n Amma…”
