Aamir Khan’s charm worked. 3 Idiots has broken the dry spell that troubled the box-office for a major part of 2009. Here are the top 10 money-makers at the box-office.

Ending the year on a high note, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 3 Idiots has earned Rs 93 crore in just four days of its release.

Saif Ali Khan’s first production venture Love Aaj Kal is the second top grosser of the year with Rs 64 crore. You can sell a film through it promos. Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani collected Rs 63 crore even without a story! It happens only in India.

Actor Salman Khan followed girlfriend Katrina. His action thriller Wanted raked in Rs 61 crore.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s crime thriller Kaminey not just changed the Shahid Kapoor’s standing as an actor, but also set the box-office ringing. It grossed close to Rs 60 crore.

Hera Pheri trio didn’t charm the audience this time, but still managed a business of Rs 45 crore.

The unusual pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen in debutante director Ayan Mukherji’s Wake Up Sid collected Rs 43 crore.

Emerging as the unexpected first hit of 2009, Emraan Hashmi-Kangna Ranaut starrer Raaz The Mystery Continues earned Rs 33 crore.

Anurag Kashyap’s experimental Devdas Dev D made a cool Rs 24 crore.

Kabir Khan’s New York, the first film that got released after the producer-distributor stalemate, got lucky with Rs 35 crore.
