Blanchett has been panned for a particular attire which has been regarded as “a student blanket turned into a dress”, Daily Mail online reported. Second on the worst dressed list was Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone, for a sheer lace and leather outfit.

Pop-queen Madonna managed third position on the list, for head-to-toe Louis Vuitton dress, designed by Marc Jacobs, who the report rated as the most overrated designer of the past ten years.

While Mary-Kate Olsen limped in fourth in a kaftan, Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole comes fifth for a “weird, curved” David Koma dress and “awful” hair extensions.
