India Fernando Ballet Company
Started in 2008, this is one of the most popular institutes in the city that offers classical ballet training. There are separate batches for children and adults that cost Rs 2,500 and Rs 3,000 per month respectively. A typical semester here is for four months and after that period, a workshop is held where students get a chance to perform on stage. The batches start in the month of August. Students have to bring in their own ballet shoes, which can also purchased at the school. Rs 800 is the cost for ballet shoes for children and Rs 1,000 for adults.

Dreamz Performing Art Academy
The institute offers very basic lessons in Russian ballet. There is no age limit and anybody can get themselves enrolled for the classes, which cost between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. Ballet costumes and shoes can be purchased at the academy. The cost of the ballet shoes starts at Rs 400 and goes up depending upon the quality. At the end of every semester, a workshop is held where the students get to perform in front of an audience.

Russian Centre of Science and Culture
This one is only for those who seriously want to learn ballet, as it isn’t easy to get admission in the School of Russian Classical Ballet here. The students enrolled have to go through an intense month long auditioning period and are granted admission only after completing it successfully. The auditions take place twice a week under the guidance of a ballet teacher from Russia — Galina Lyakhova. The age limit is till 15 years, but students up to 19 years can also enroll. Rs 2,000 is the admission fee and Rs 1,800 is the fee for the month of July. The admission fee is not refundable even if the students do not qualify.

National Ballet & Academy
The academy was started in the year 2002. Presently, it has 140 students and 7 instructors teaching Russian ballet. The starting age for children is 2.5 years and there are separate classes for adults. A single semester consists of 32 classes and the charges are Rs 11,000 per semester. At the end of every semester, a show is organized where students can show their ballet skills. Some of the past productions done by the students of this academy include choreographies based on works such as Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Saint Leon’s Coppelia among others.

The Danceworx
The Founder of Danceworx, Ashley Lobo, is one of the most popular choreographers in the country. Apart from other forms of dances, he has also trained in classical ballet. The academy has classes for both adults and children. The charges are Rs 5,100 per quarter. The duration of a class is 1.5 hours and it takes place in Danceworx studios.
