Phone a friend
Bon jour my blueberry muffins! Vyjjy has taken off for South Africa where he’ll be camped for the next month and a half. Thanks to this Indian Premiere League, I can take a break from him.
Maybe I’ll join him too and sit pretty with Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla. He’s already over the phone, begging me to fly down there soon. Sochungi!
Another woman would have been jittery letting him loose with the firangs. Not me. I’m not Deepika Padukone, who’s sulking over beau Ranbir Kapoor’s growing dosti with Katrina Kaif, so I’m told.
Buzz is that she’s not taking the rumours lightly and paying Ranboo back in the same coin. She’s turning to purana admirer Mahindra Singh Dhoni.. and has been on the mobile with Mahi since the last few days, says my rather excited source.
Maybe Mahi should take a tip or two from Yuvraj Singh, who ended up heartbroken when, after going house hunting with his mummyji, Deepi told the world that he was just a friend.
And this after their dinner date made front-page news last year. That quote had Yuvi stumped! He’s still recovering. Tsk tsk.
Fear is the key!
Hmm, seems Akshay Kumar is kinda rattled by the no show of films like Jumbo, Chandni Chowk to China and Tasveer 8 x 10.. and doesn’t want to take any chances with the ones lined up, starting with Kambakkth Ishq.
To ensure that he doesn’t end up with another cold turkey, Akki is working hard to wrap up the second installment of Khatron ke Khiladi in South Africa in the next couple of weeks.
Kyun? Kyunki he wants the promos of his television action show to go on air just a couple of days before Kambakkht Ishq opens in the cinemas.
Seems he is confident that promos of his desi Fear Factor will help improve the prospects of his international love story. Well, well.. ummeed pe duniya qaayam hai.
Four women and a man
Achha listen.. Madhavan’s loss will be Riteish Deshmukh’s gain, remarks my Rapchik Rajni mysteriously.
She informs me that RD has been confirmed to play the only male part in Revathy Sharma’s women-centric movie, Chassni, featuring Jaya Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, Ayesha Takia and Urvashi Sharma.
Rajni tells me that it was Jayaji who recommended Riteish’s name to Revathy.. who dropped in at the shoot of India 24 x 7 to narrate the script to the abhineta. Apparently, RD decided halfway through the discussion that he was in.
Chalo, badhiya hai.
I do so adore Farah Khan’s sharp wit. The Om Shanti Om director was chilling out with her sahelis at the launch of a luxury jewellery store when someone remarked that Khan should have worn at least a one-karat heera for the event.
To that Farah quipped she only wore three-karat diamonds.. keeping her angelic triplets in mind.
The person persisted: “In that case, you should wear five karats.. since there are five in your family.”
Farah responded with a hearty laugh.. Ha ha ha ha ..How I wish some of our moviepur’s Sultans and Begums of Sulk would have such a sense of humour too.
All’s fine now
Oi oi.. what is this I’m hearing now? Madhu my Mottu Maid just come in with my nimbu pani and a sad expression. She says her favourite director, Mani Ratnam, has taken ill.
Before the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Ratnam sir felt severe pain in the chest and was rushed to Margao’s Apollo Victor Hospital.
Diagnosis revealed angina, caused by extreme exertion and high blood pressure. Mani sir is stable now but still under
medication. Fortunately, the initial echo cardiogram hasn’t shown any signs of a heart attack.
Hopefully, he will be allowed to go back home in another couple of days. Must send him a bright bouquet with a get well soon card. I hate it when one of my favourites feels under the weather. But kya karoon? After all, such is life dearies.
