Hollywood actor Natalie Portman’s engagement ring is unique in more ways than one. The 29-year-old, who is engaged to ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied, has an eco-friendly sparkler with an estimated value of $35,000 (around R16,00,000).

Portman’s ring was carefully designed by Millepied to include recycled platinum, an antique centre stone and diamonds taken from a conflict-free mine.
