The singer, who was recently spotted hanging out with her girlfriends, may actually be really depressed, People magazine reports.

"She feels she's being judged by the world and opts to hide out at home, the family feels bad for Jessica. They worry for her a lot," the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.

The family was earlier concerned about Jessica’s younger sister, Ashlee. However, there happens to be a role reversal, as now the younger sister is leading a happy life with husband Pete Wentz and baby boy Bronx Mowgli.

The family friend said: "The family used to have such faith in [Jessica] and they worried about Ashlee. Now they are fully confident in Ashlee''s choices and they worry most of their days about Jessica. It seems she just can't catch a break."
