The National Museum of American History in Washington has gathered together the ball gowns worn by First Ladies of the United States over the decades and put them up for display.

The National Museum of American History in Washington has gathered together the ball gowns worn by First Ladies of the United States over the decades and put them up for display.

Every year four million people from around the world visit the museum, which is one of the US capital’s tourist magnets. Michelle Obama’s white chiffon gown is the latest addition.



Among the other first ladies, gowns worn by Jacqueline Kennedy, Nancy, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush and Mamie Eisenhower are on display at the museum.
