Get a pet-a-porter range

Mother thought it was a great idea for our newest family member's birthday… so we set off to our oft-trawled mall. At the pet store, a host of products greeted us. Shalini Singh writes.

A phone call came last week: "May I have your pet's name?" "Sheeba." "Her birthday?" "December 17." "We want to invite you to our winter collection…" I interrupted, "I don't really…" "It's for her, not you," went the voice.

Mother thought it was a great idea for our newest family member's birthday… so we set off to our oft-trawled mall. At the pet store, a host of products greeted us. First up, a new collar. Sheeba loves bling so a cheery yellow with her name in shiny crystals (Rs 350) was picked up.

It's still monsoon, so we bought a raincoat in soft teal with a rainbow border (Rs 850). From the winter collection, Sheeba liked the Burberryesque coats (Rs 850).

Mom let her have a pink one (Rs 300) and red shoes (Rs 750). I picked up accessories as part of my present - a purple and pink 'drama queen' bandanna (Rs 250) - (how apt!), and a grey necklace (Rs 299) with a paw pendant (Rs 250).

Back at home, as Sheeba pirouetted in her new wardrobe, Snoopy's eyes lit up-in appreciation of his mate.
