Chunky Panday has come back to the big screen with a bang in the past few years, playing colourful characters in multi-starrer movies.

Known for his self-deprecating sense of humour, Chunky revealed some inside-Bollywood tales to RJ Anuraag ‘Picture’ Pandey of Fever 104 FM. Here’s a snapshot:“I admit I’m a miser! The most generous thing I’ve done is get married! My grandfather would tell me that money saved is money earned! I have a habit of collecting all my old stuff. I still have all my old clothes and old cars, but my wife spends all my money,” he laughs.

“I got my big movie break thanks to an emergency in a five star hotel bathroom. I was attending a film party, wearing a kurta pyjama. At the washroom, I could not open the pyjama knot and was
screaming for help. Pahlaj Nihalani was there and he helped me out. And before I knew it, I was in front of the camera for my first feature film, Aag Hi Aag!”

He adds, “Tezaab came to me because Govinda was a bit too busy! I was supposed to have just five scenes in the movie, and the song ‘So gaya yeh jahaan...’ almost got cut because people felt it was slowing down the pace of the movie. But N Chandra, the director was adamant that the song be retained.”
