Celebrate, ladies. Brett Lee, long considered one of the hottest cricketers around, has declared he’s single. Asked if Lee, who walked the ramp for designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla at the Delhi Couture Week on Sunday night, was currently seeing someone, he said, “I wish I was. But I’m not dating anyone right now. I’m single and ready to mingle.”
What about rumours of him dating actress Preity Zinta? “Preity is a dear friend,” is all he says. Being a star on the runway is something that Lee is evidently fond of. “You should watch me at the finale! I’m very excited about the clothes I’m wearing for the show; they have beautiful colours and exquisite heavy embroidery,” he says excitedly, right before the start of the show.
It’s not just the fashion world where the Australian fast bowler is making waves. Asked if he’s game for Bollywood, too, given how he’s picked up Hindi, Lee says, "Oh yes, why not. You never know what happens in the future. I love watching Hindi movies — they’re fun. I’ve enjoyed Preity’s Kal Ho Na Ho a lot."
And to prove he’ll be quite at ease with the language, he quickly adds, “Let me say a few words in Hindi…ek do, namaste, jaldi karo, aap kaise ho, theek ho,” he says. Lee’s equally enamoured by the food in the country. “I love Indian food, especially butter chicken. It’s so delicious!”
