She created waves in the film industry with her very first Hindi film, Mr and Mrs Iyer. Then there was no stopping her. Whether it was her portrayal of a journalist in Page 3 or the rustic Indu Tyagi in Omkara, or her lost-in-a-big-city role in Life in a Metro, Konkona Sensharma has brought each character to life. With two National awards and many others to her name, this powerhouse performer is ready to take centrestage in Wake Up Sid.

What are you reading at the moment?
I rarely read one book at a time. So right now it’s Broken Music – A Memoir, Sting’s autobiography (shockingly good so far), The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks and Anna Karenina (which I’m really taking some time over).

Fun to you is…
A weekend at home with good food, a few close friends, watching a movie or a TV show and playing the Wii.

If you were invisible for a day, you would…
Eavesdrop I guess, what else?

The one invention you’re really waiting for…
An automatic blow dry machine. You just buy it, then stick your head in it and it comes out as a perfect blow dry in five minutes!!

Would you like to be young forever?
No, I shudder at the thought of my younger gawky self.

Weekend at a wellness spa or weekend at a luxury beach resort?
I love the beach and usually you can get a massage right there on the sand.

Your idea of a perfect meal?
Anything dripping with calories!

Lean or brawny?
Lean, lean, lean.

Your worst date ever?
I don’t think I’ve had one. I never go out with random people.

Rate in order of importance: Fame, money, power.
None, but if I have to then: money, power, fame.

Three people from history you’d like to meet?
Amelia Earhart, Janis Joplin, Frida Kahlo.

The place you really want to visit and why.
Vietnam. Other than its history, I believe it’s beautiful. And cheap!

Ethnic wear or western wear?

Are you a morning person or a night person?
Totally night person.

Which film’s hero/heroine do you most identify with?
Can it be a book? Agastya from English August.

What are you addicted to?
Smoking. I’m giving up tomorrow.

The naughtiest thing you’ve ever done (as an adult!)?
I wish I could tell you!

What’s your retirement dream?
To sleep till noon every day.

Your next move?
To shut the laptop and take a nap.

Your favourite drink?

Who do you think your partner / significant other has a crush on?
I know. Gwen Stefani

The one fashion trend you just don’t understand?
Skinny jeans. They’re not for everyone!
