Saturday nights meant parties and socialising, though not anymore,” says birthday boy Neil Nitin Mukesh who turns 29 today. The actor has quit all vices and, hence, finds it difficult to socialise. “I’m happy I got rid of all the bad habits early in my life but sometimes, when I’m with friends or just out to socialise, I feel a bit left out,” he chuckles.

The actor is expecting his mother to be back in town today to be with him on his

janamdin

(birthday). “If she doesn’t come back, it’ll be a boys’ club at home with dad, my brother and me. We haven’t watched a movie together in a while. So, hopefully, we will be lunching together and then go catch

Yamla Pagla Deewana

and

No One Killed Jessica

. I’m keen on watching both,” Neil smiles. “Evening will be dedicated to friends who I haven’t met in a long time. They’re my school buddies, now married and domesticated.”

Hasn’t Neil’s ‘Married Men Club’ asked him to tie the knot as well? “What makes you think they haven’t?” he laughs. “But they understand me well. They’ve been supportive. As teenagers, we had planned that we’d start working at a certain age and marry before we’re 30. The only thing that didn’t work out as per my plan was finding the partner and getting married.”

The actor feels that he couldn’t find a match for himself and won’t have the time to find one this year either. “I have tight travelling and shooting schedules. Next week, I’ll be leaving for New Zealand to shoot Players, followed by a month long shoot in Mumbai and then, I’m off to Russia for a couple of weeks. So, I think I’ll be 30, and I still won’t have a partner because that’s a process and will happen only when it’s destined to happen,” Neil sighs. “Maybe one fine day, when I’m stuck at the signal, I might spot my dream girl crossing the road. I just hope the wipers don’t block my sight that day!”
