Sean Penn's ex recently at her dinner party announced that she had started the charity to help sexually abused women because she had been through the nightmare herself, eonline reported.
"I was sexually abused as a child, and the work that my foundation does is not going to end sexual abuse, but it will definitely raise the awareness and give room for other women and girls to come forward and begin the healing process," White said.
White revealed to E! News that her brother-in-law was the one who molested her. "It was my brother-in-law, my sister's ex-husband. For the first time I realized I kept it a secret for so long, but why when people weren't protecting me?" she said. "At 17, I told my older sister and asked her not to say anything, to not tear my family apart."
Deeming her life "hellish", White said that she hated going home so much so that she punched holes in walls to deal with the secret she was carrying.
White now heads Angel Wings Foundation which helps sexually abused women.
