With the Commonwealth Games proceeding merrily, the focus now is also on the culture of the Commonwealth countries, whose artists are displaying their works in the city.

Among the visitors is tribal artist William White, who brings the centuries- old weaving tradition that has been evolved by his people from the northern British Colombia region in Canada.



White has brought with him two tapestries woven by him and a chilkat blanket inmerino wool that are being displayed at the “Power Cloths of the Commonwealth” in the capital. “For chilkat weaving, the final result could take about one year to finish, if I work around 10 hours every day,” says White.
