Planning to fly out of the city this Christmas? Hang on - there’s a lot happening around town. The capital is abuzz with the jingle and jangle that comes with the holiday season, and giant Christmas trees, Santa castles, and Xmas fests wait to be visited. Here are some reasons to shut that travel website window.
Jazzy bells
Those looking for a day-long outing on Christmas should consider the Christmas Carnival at the India Habitat Centre (IHC). From hair braiding and tattoo making to painting and a jazz performance by Babush Santana, the carnival has something in store for the whole family. The gala would also include a lavish Christmas brunch at the All American Diner.

Disney dream
Haven't been able to take your kids to Disneyland? Treat them to a 30-feet high Disney castle. At DLF Place in Saket, kids can walk into the fairytale castle, get a Princess-style makeover, and also get clicked. There is also a Mickey and Minnie photo zone, a Pixar car zone, complete with PS3 games to play. One day before the festival, the big Christmas Cavalcade, with revelers, Santa, elves and carol singers, will keep your spirits high. The festival will conclude with a Princess Pageant, a fashion show for little girls dressed as princesses.

Filmy fantasy
The three-day Epicentre Christmas Carnival, to be held on December 24 and 26, will include a food and flee market on all days that would offer Xmas goodies among other exciting deals, and a Jazz performance by Aditya Balani and troupe on the second day of the carnival, followed by two film screenings - A Christmas Carol and Miracle on the 34th Street, to mark the Christmas day. Carol singing and innovative games will keep you and the kids busy all day long.

Red hot
That’s the way Delhi’s party diehards like their Christmas, and Urban Pind seems to understand that well. The chic lounge is done up in lustrous reds, and the Christmas-themed tattoo sessions and glitter body art add to the spirit. White Christmas
So what if it doesn’t snow in Delhi - Select City Walk’s crystal-studded Christmas makes the festival a sparkling white affair. A European style set-up, a 35-feet high crystal Christmas tree with 1, 00, 000 crystals and candy sticks and a larger-than-life Santa installation with a snow sledge and reindeers this affair a spectacle. Live choirs, guitarists, fusion artistes and street dancers will also pump up the evenings.
