John Abraham uses net to avoid gossip
Claims ignorance to Bipasha Basu’s “he should get married” comment, has banned GECs and papers at home.
He broke up with Bipasha Basu in early 2011, but John Abraham continues to make news with regards to his ex-girlfriend. A few days ago, Bips commented that the 40-year-old John is getting old and wished that he got married.
Ask John if he gets bothered about such reports, and the actor says he has banned GECs (general entertainment channel) and newspapers at home. Instead, the actor uses the Internet for day-to-day news.
“I get my quota of news through the Internet. (Thanks to the net) I only choose to read what I really want to. So, I’ve the option of avoiding what I don’t like,” he says, adding that he has kept myself away from TV too.
“I don’t watch GECs at all. I only watch football, MotoGP and Formula One. I know what’s happening in the world, though. I have often been told that a comment is being made about me, but since I haven’t read the papers, I have no idea about it. So, I am never in a position to retort.”
The Dostana (2008) actor, who dated Bipasha for nine years, parted ways with her last year. Right now, John is in a relationship with investment banker Priya Runchal, but is fiercely guarded about his personal life.
He adds: “It’s a space I would have spoken about earlier. But at this stage, I don’t speak about it. The day I want to talk about marriage and my (personal) life, I will do it with a lot of pride. There won’t be anything to hide,” says the actor, who recently announced his production company, JA Entertainment.
